There are five mailing lists dedicated to Ethereal.
General support questions should be sent to ethereal-users[AT]ethereal.com . Anyone may post to this list, but messages from non-subscribers must first be approved by a moderator.
Ethereal-announce is for users who wish to be notified of new releases and other important information concerning Ethereal. Posting to this list is restricted.
The ethereal-dev[AT]ethereal.com mailing list is intended primarily for developers, but anyone may join. As with the ethereal-users list, posts from unsubscribed users must be approved by a moderator.
Changes to the bug database can be tracked via the ethereal-bugs maling list.
Those wishing to track changes to the source tree as they are made can subscribe to ethereal-cvs.
The ethereal-doc list was once dedicated to documentation development. It is now closed.
There are two ways to subscribe and unsubscribe to Ethereal's mailing lists. You can use the web interface by clicking on a link below, or by sending an empty email message to the list's -subscribe and -unsubscribe addresses, which are also shown below. Along with subscription status, the web interface lets you set other options such as delivery and digests.

Each of these mailing lists are intended to serve a specific area of the Ethereal user and developer communities. Messages that are outside the scope of each list's stated purpose are subject to removal. Unsolicited commercial and bulk email (UCE/UBE, a.k.a spam) and virii are expressly prohibited.
You may have noticed that the email addresses on this site look a little funny. In order to prevent automated harvesting of addresses we use a variety of obfuscation techniques. If you see a normal email address, e.g. "username@example.com") please notify ethereal-web[AT]ethereal.com so that we may protect it from harvesters.
Although we try our best to keep our users' email addresses from making their way into spam databases, this sometimes happens. For example, we can't do much to stop someone from setting up a mail-to-Usenet gateway. When you post to the Ethereal lists (and any other public mailing list) it's a good idea to do so from a disposable or otherwise indirect mail account.
We also try to avoid viruses through several means, one of which is to block attachments with specific file extensions (.EXE, .PIF, .SCR, .VBS, etc.). One file extension of note is .ZIP. If you want to send a ZIP archive to any ethereal.com address, you'll have to change the file extension (e.g. to ".zip_" or ".ChangeToZip") or use another archive format such as a compressed tarfile (.tar.gz).
